Northside Physio is a physiotherapy and clinical pilates practice located in Thornbury. We are proudly local, also servicing surrounding suburbs including Fairfield, Northcote, Preston, Ivanhoe and beyond.
We are open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, with flexible appointments available early in the morning and later nights during the week. Northside Physio will strive to find you an appointment on the day you make contact. You can book appointments via telephone, online or just come in and say hi.
Northside Physio accepts all types of patients including private, WorkSafe, TAC, DVA and Medicare CDM Care plans. No matter what your condition we will endeavour to provide a superior service with positive health outcomes. Clinicians at Northside Physio will work closely with other health professionals to gain the best outcome for your health. We offer on the spot private health rebates through the HICAPS system.
Our team
Hayley McIntyre
Hayley graduated from Bond University on the Gold Coast with her Doctor of Physiotherapy and previously La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Exercise Science. Hayley has had an extensive amount of musculoskeletal and sporting experience through working with various local and semi-elite sporting clubs.
As a physiotherapist, Hayley prides herself on providing a combination of hands on treatment and exercise therapy to treat both the symptoms and the underlying cause. She values the importance of patient centred care by undertaking a thorough clinical history and assessment. Hayley likes to educate and guide patients through their rehabilitation journey, empowering them to understand their pathology and return them back to doing the things they love. She is a proficient Clinical Pilates instructor, using the knowledge to both rehabilitate and prevent injuries.
Hayley has extended her development into dry needling, Clinical Pilates, Athletic hip and groin pain and advanced lumbo-pelvic dysfunction. She has a special interest in sporting injuries and the lower limb including ankles, knees, and hip related injuries. She also excels at postural and thoracic/neck pain and vertigo.
When Hayley isn’t in the clinic you’ll often find her running on the local trails in the Yarra Valley, drinking coffee, walking her dog Hugo or at the footy. Hayley is a diehard St Kilda supporter and hopes to see a premiership in her lifetime.
Roland Bayles
Roland graduated from Australian Catholic University (Ballarat) with Bachelor’s of Physiotherapy (Honours). Roland began his physiotherapy career in private practice at Gippsland Physiotherapy. Here he did a combination of in clinic and community based work. He loves private practice and gained experience working with sporting population, workplace injuries, disability and geriatric clients.
Rolands musculoskeletal experience has allowed him to treat a broad range of conditions. Roland has a special interest in dizziness and balance disorders and rehabilitation in both sporting and non-sporting populations. At Northside Physio he is the go-to practitioner for all vertigo and dizziness related disorders.
Since graduating Roland has up-skilled and completed courses in dry needling, Clinical Pilates and most recently in dizziness and vertigo diagnosis and management. This has complimented previous learning in balance, dizziness and falls. Roland also uses his skills with dry needling and Pilates to provide a combination of hand on and exercise therapy.
Roland is a country boy at heart having grown up in the Gippsland area, with his family home a working hobby farm. He loves getting out to nature when he can. Roland enjoys playing soccer and has played since he was 5 years old. He will be available for consultations Tuesday through to Saturdays.
Connie Batchelor (nee. Neeskens)
Connie is currently on maternity leave until March 2025.
Northside Physio was founded by Connie Batchelor (nee Neeskens) in 2020. Connie is an experienced musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapist, as well as clinical Pilates instructor. She has had over 13 years of musculoskeletal experience. Starting in Queensland, Connie has worked with elite sporting teams, the mining industry, fine tuned her Clinical Pilates skills. She encompasses a multi approach to treatment with a combination of manual therapy and exercise. She loves treating TMJ (jaw), shoulders and knee pain. Connie has recently completed her studies in Pelvic Health and is excited to offer this service at the clinic.
Connie is passionate about women’s health and an advocate for empowering women throughout their life stages. She offers services from adolescent women through to menopause and beyond.
In her spare time she enjoys going to dinner with her husband, walking her dog Humphrey, drinking champagne and finding the best chicken and waffles in Melbourne.
Humphrey
Our resident pooch and cuddle monster. Humphrey is Connie’s dog, and he will sit patiently while you work on the reformer or walking into the consult room.
He loves – attention, pats, cuddles and chasing the ball. He is in the clinic a couple days a week and can be seen at the local dog park.
Administration Staff
At our front desk we have Natalie, Zoe, and Kayla. The girls work different days throughout the week and you will see their smiling faces regularly at the front desk.
